GOOD MORNING! Can you believe it’s already July 23rd??


Yuuuuuummmm, am I right??

I made this smoothie a few days ago and it was SO so good. With all of the summer festivities that Danny and I attend, it’s incredibly easy to slip into this routine of hamburgers, hotdogs, pasta salad, potato salad, cookies, ice cream, you get the idea. It’s basically a recipe for a disastrous bloat-fest. And lucky for me, I am marrying a man who can eat whatever he wants and LOSE weight! How is that even fair?


So last week, I woke up with a hankering for some sort of green smoothie. Is it just me, or is the fact that my smoothie is the color of a leafy vegetable make it seem WAY healthier? … asking for a friend.

I found this recipe at (<– awesome site, btw!).

img_1857Recipe goes as follows:

  • 1 medium banana (frozen is best, but not necessary)
  • 1/2 cup mixed frozen berries (I used strawberries & blueberries)
  • 1 Tbsp flaxseed meal
  • 1 heaping Tbsp natural, salted peanut butter (and I mean, heaping)
  • 1/2 – 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
**Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until creamy**


It was delicious. I made a variation of this smoothie every day (until my spinach ran out). OH! I also topped it with fresh blueberries, bananas and my own home made chia seed pudding *will post about later!*

What’s so great about this smoothie — other than the fact that it’s the bombdotcom — is that it’s got 15g of fiber and 11g of protein first thing in the morning. HECK YEAH!


I mean, come on. Does it get better?
